Cyan Wins BusinessGreen Technology Award
Cyan (AIM:CYAN.L), the integrated system and software design company delivering mesh based flexible wireless solutions for utility metering and lighting control, today announced it has won ‘Future City Technology of the Year Award’ at the inaugural BusinessGreen Technology Awards.
Hosted in London on 27 November, the awards celebrated some of the most exciting and inspiring clean technologies and developments driving the growth of the green economy.
In a category defined by its cutting edge innovation, Cyan’s smart city communication platform stood out. The judges were impressed with Cyan’s technology, which enables the integration of energy and lighting data, as well as information from the evolving Internet of Things. Cyan promises to provide a platform that can help make the smart city vision a reality, slashing energy use and air pollution in the process. Cyan was also highly commended in the ‘Clean and Cool Award for International Impact.’
John Cronin, Executive Chairman of Cyan, commented: “This award win, and our commendation, recognises that our team continues to lead the industry and provide benefits to consumers with its innovative, clean technology. We are very proud of the progress we have made within emerging markets over the last 2 years and are optimistic about the future of smart metering in fast-growing economies.”
Judges felt that Cyan is contributing greatly to the future of smart metering, smart cities and more efficient power in emerging economies, by enabling wireless data communication with its CyLec product suite. Cyan’s CyLec Connect retrofit module enables smart metering functionality to legacy meters, accelerating the rollout of smart grids without having to ‘rip and replace’ the existing meter stock, perfect for emerging economies.
