Cyan attends reception with Indian Prime Minister

Cyan (AIM:CYAN.L), the integrated system and software design company delivering mesh based flexible wireless solutions for utility metering and lighting control’s Executive Chairman, John Cronin attended an invitation only reception to hear both the UK Prime Minister David Cameron and Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi, speak about deepening business ties between the UK and India last night.

Cyan has been working in India since 2011 and has an Indian-staffed office in Dehli as well as implementations through Indian partners at Tata Power, at CESC* in Mysore and at Essel Utilities. Earlier this month, Cyan’s CyLec® retrofit smart metering module – which is being rolled out in India – won the Smart Metering, ICT & Data Management Award at the European Utility Week 2015 Awards.

John Cronin, Cyan Executive Chairman, commented: “I was privileged to be recognised as a UK business leader invited to a reception where Prime Minister Modi spoke about growth, innovation and leadership – as well as opportunities for British companies.

“The Indian Prime Minister plans to build 100 smart cities including 50 million homes and with that comes the big challenge to create futuristic physical and social infrastructure. These initiatives provide avenues for investment in energy efficiency, water recycling and waste to energy and Modi is setting up a fund with an annual contribution of $3.5billion US Dollars to meet this infrastructure demand.”

The reception was given at London’s Guildhall for UK business leaders operating in India, including –financiers, engineers, architects and sustainability experts.
